Ceremony had set the bar high with regard to stage wear as from the beginning we all had smart trendy suits from a high fashion boutique in Newcastle. Therefore with the advent of the change from Tom Jackman to Syd Reay on drums, the die was cast as to the way things were going to look on stage. The first two photos were an idea that never happened, leading to the velvet suits in photos 3&4. Peters was blue Barries marroon Syds was olive green and mine was a chocolate brown. Stage makeup became the norm as was the fashion of the time.

When Barrie left the band for what was to be a short time he was replaced by Dave and Andy (The Whispers duo). A new image was required. One-piece lurex catsuits another one of my great ideas or so I thought. It was never possible to wear anything under these outfits as the elastic from ones underpants would be clearly visible, a most strange sensation standing on stage at a club with nothing on but a smile. Dave was never keen on these outfits and tried relentlessly to destroy his, resulting in the stage wear show in photo 6. Of the lurex catsuits, no photos have survived only a memory.
